IKMK.at reaches 10,001 coins in RIC

Today the 10,001st coin was released with an entry in the reference work RIC (Roman Imperial Coinage). Especially in its form as the digital portal OCRE (Online Coins of the Roman Empire), this originally ten-volume series forms the basis for the determination of Imperial Roman coins.

The 10,001st coin for the RIC is a one-and-a-half solidus of Constantinus I, which is already illustrated in the work Numismata Cimelii (Vienna 1755). Minted in 325 AD in Nicomedia, it is probably associated with the emperor's arrival in that city. In the same year Constantinus I opened the so-called First Council of Nikaia, which is located nearby.
